What can you give that will cost you nothing, yet will make literally a world of difference to the recipient?
The answer -- knowledge. For most of us, the most basic knowledge we have is how to speak English.
Â
No big deal, you say? Not for you since you were likely pretty good at it well before you went to school.

Even an hour a week sharing what you take for granted can bring great satisfaction to you and open new
doors for your student. The Literacy Council includes people of varied backgrounds who share one thing -
the desire to make a huge difference in the life of someone. The materials are provided, and eager students
are waiting.Â

everyone can easily give an hour a week.
